This lamp is assembled using a lead-free process known as "copper foil and solder technique", which was made popular by L.C. Tiffany in the 1880's, and is still quite popular today. This technique is well-suited for making three dimensional objects such as this lamp, and the other stained glass collectibles that we offer. The copper foil is much stronger than lead when soldered, and allows for intricately detailed items where the bulky look of lead would detract from the design.
